Dr. Brown's Bio
Sara Brown, D.O. is Board Certified in both Family & Sports Medicine. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Family medicine. Dr. Brown received her undergraduate degree in Nutrition from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities and moved to Chicago for Medical School at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. After finishing a Family Medicine Residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, she completed a sports medicine fellowship at MacNeal Hospital.
Due to her training in both Family and Sports Medicine, she is equipped to provide for all of the needs of the athlete, including medical issues or illnesses. In addition, her medical school training in Osteopathy focuses on the holistic approach and enables her to offer osteopathic manipulations, using a hands-on approach to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury.
Dr. Brown serves on the medical team for the Chicago Marathon and has served as the team physician for college and high school athletic teams. She is prepared to accommodate any age and any type of athlete at all levels, from the recreational to the professional.
Dr. Brown serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Area Runners Association and the Research Committee for the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Brown was born and raised in Minnesota and has created a home here in Chicago with her husband. She is a recreational athlete who enjoys running, biking, yoga, and pilates.

Dr. Brown’s philosophy is that physical activity is the fountain of youth and allows people to remain healthy and happy. It is her goal to keep people active and doing what they love.
